Apart from being an educationist she proved to be a philanthropist who served in the field of education not to just teach but to motivate the students to become an asset to the society. Her dedicated work for the rural society of District UNA in HIMACHAL PRADESH is still remembered with reverence. She was serving as Headmistress at GHS Dehlan (UNA) when she breathe last on 11th Aug 1988. .
In her loving memory an educational society named SWADESH MEMORIAL PUBLIC SCHOOL MANAGING SOCIETY was formed in 1995. Late SH. B.N. Sharma , having devoted his whole life in the Department of Education H.P. got retired as Principal GSSS Basdhera Distt. UNA. H.P. As he could realize the need of education in human life so with a noble cause to provide education with latest techniques and methods to the rural masses and a small school in the name and style of SWADESH MEMORIAL PUBLIC SCHOOL was started by the President of society late Sh. B.N. SHARMA with generous support of Late Sh. MADAN GOPAL GARG with the intake of 40 odd students.
Long journey of twenty one years is full of glorifying achievements. Today with the support of dedicated staff and management institution is striving to fulfill its motive to impart value based education to the students. Along with teaching, special stress is given on sports and cultural activities especially moral education.
Following the directions of Government of Himachal Pradesh in 2005 to have separate Elementary and Sr. Sec. Wings, classes from 9th to +2 were shifted to Sr. Sec. wing at JAKHERA. And now Elementary wing is being run at Bhatoli road Mehatpur.
